GET TO KNOW ME

HELLO THERE

Founder of Serenely Rooted

For years, I wore the “do-it-all” badge like it was a family heirloom. It started weighing me down like a cast-iron skillet in my purse. I was constantly busy but somehow never actually getting anywhere.

Eventually, I realized that peace doesn’t come from juggling faster. It grows quietly in those rooted, still moments when you finally exhale and think, oh right, this is what aligned feels like.

“When your home is grounded in structure, calm becomes your family’s natural state.”

How It All Started

My Story

I pulled into my garage after a 12-hour shift and shut the door. Then… nothing. I just sat there, staring at the steering wheel, too tired to even open the door. There were tears. There was doubt. So. Much. Self. Doubt.

I remember thinking, “I worked this hard to get here… and HERE kinda sucks.”

The long shifts, the endless charting, the mom guilt. I couldn’t figure out how other people made life work while I was over here forgetting the last time I showered. Date night? Exercise? I couldn’t even figure out how to sleep!

And when I did ask for help, the guilt came rushing in like it had a VIP pass. I’d hand over kitchen duty to my husband and instantly think, Wait… am I still a good wife and mom if I don’t cook? Am I still a good doctor if I’m this drained?

Medicine was all I knew, and I tried to “escape” the burnout with vacations that just turned into naps in prettier places.

Eventually, I hit what I call “the valley of what now”. That place where life looks fine on paper but feels flat in your soul. I was stuck in a life I’d worked hard to build but didn’t actually want to live.

Then one day, when I finally whispered to myself, “I can’t keep doing this,” my four-year-old, in her perfectly unfiltered wisdom, taught me something that would change everything.

Rooted in Hope

The Choice

It was so simple. I couldn’t help but smile.

Lily's lesson taught me about choice. One tiny choice — that’s all it took for things to start shifting. I decided to believe that something new was possible. That my time, energy, and joy weren’t lost causes but mine to reclaim.

I started hanging out with people who inspired growth instead of burnout, swapped old habits for ones that actually supported the woman and mom I wanted to be, and made time for joy every single day. Not as a treat if I finished my to-do list but as a strategy.

I began living with intention instead of reactivity. I caught myself mid–mental meltdown thinking, “Wait, do I actually have to believe this thought?” I started noticing how my inner dialogue was running the show and decided it was time for a kinder director.

After years of testing, refining, and learning through motherhood, mindset work, coaching, and a fair amount of real-life trial and error, I created something new. A way for driven parents to blend mindset with systems. A way to lead with both joy and strategy. A way to find serenity — not in a perfect home, but in a rooted one.

No more escape necessary

My every day life is now the vacation

I am in a happy marriage of 15 years (and counting), a mother of four incredible children, an Aunt to 11, and a daughter to a couple who just celebrated 50 years of marriage. My extended family of 27 lives locally and we all get along!

I am an executive coach for parents like you, an Emergency Medicine physician with a Masters of Education, an entrepreneur, a real estate investor, a volleyball coach, a creator, an author, a travel planner, and someone who designs life on their terms. Fast forward from that night in the garage...we just spent 6 weeks traveling Europe with only a carry-on and backpack each, and NO SCREENS! (Click here more for big family travel tips, lessons, and stories!)

I am happy in my work because I choose to be there. I have discovered the keys to successfully navigate all of this... AND take care of myself EVERY DAY. And now I get to share it with you.
